Vale David Malouf

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of David Malouf, a Lifetime Ambassador of the ILF.

Over the years, we came to know him as a gentle and generous man - a literary giant whose presence will be sorely missed.

In 2008, he lent his support to the ILF, inviting us onto the stage at Adelaide Writers Week to speak about our work.

This event gave us a platform and a voice that was heard by a large audience of writers, publishers, and readers.

His support meant the world to us, instantly adding gravitas to our work and dramatically expanding our circle of early supporters.

We take solace in the rich legacy he leaves behind and we will continue to honor the shared values we upheld together, especially our belief in the transformative power and magic of reading.
