On Wednesday 3 September, we’re celebrating with the theme Strength in our Stories: For Now & Future Generations with a free FILM and LIVESTREAM event from Sydney Opera House. 

In Northern Territory homes, Kriol is the most spoken language after English. And it is the most widely spoken Aboriginal language in Australia today.

In late May, a team from the Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) travelled to Norway to present the work of the ILF on the global stage. The privilege of speaking at these events followed the honour of winning the 2024 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, an internationally recognised award which has opened many doors, furthering the work of the ILF.

Author Rärriwuy Gurramu Marika and Illustrator Merrkiiyawuy Ganambarr-Stubbs are respected Elders of the Yolŋu people of North East Arnhem Land Community, Yirrkala, in the Northern Territory. Each is an artist, author and teacher, and has worked on many books.

We are proud to launch a brand that reflects our Community-led values, celebrates First Nations storytelling and honours the diverse cultures and Communities we work with.

NAIDOC Week is an annual celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. This important week honours those who are fighting for their Communities, pays tribute to our history, and celebrates the strengths of First Nations peoples.
